Today Good George has announced a scheme to support its on premise customers who may have been caught out with a chiller full of kegs during lockdown. Co-Founder Jason Macklow says “We have been involved in this industry running bars, and restaurants of our own for over 20 years and this is easily the most uncertain and difficult time the industry has faced. These are certainly tough times for all of us and we know first-hand the difficulties our customers are going through. We want to try to help where we can.”

While the brewery itself has continued to operate, the network of over 100 bars and restaurants they supply have been forced to close. Macklow’s co-founder Darrel Hadley added that despite the tough times the brewery is determined to see this crisis out and emerge even stronger as a supporter of the hospitality sector on the other side. “We treasure the relationships and partnerships we have formed with everyone in the on-premise trade and we’ll be here through the good times and the bad.”


As a result of their commitment Good George is offering a full credit on all unopened full kegs that are returned to the brewery meaning venue operators do not need to worry about any stocks of kegs aging in chillers. It’s also helpful for operators who are working hard to manage their cashflow during this stressful time. 

Good George is hopeful when the time is right bars will then be able to use these credits to re-order fresh stock meaning one less headache for bar operators, and their future customers can be assured that they are getting the freshest Good George beer and cider available.

Hadley says that depending on future Alert Levels it is quite possible that they will be unable to use any of the stock that is returned so it will be a significant cost to their independently owned business. “We think it’s the right thing to do and is consistent with our commitment to our “fresh is best” promise.” Good George is encouraging all of its customers to take up the offer or contact their Good George Rep to do a quality check before re-opening.
